Our 32 Cell Seed Trays are exclusively designed and sold by Bootstrap Farmer.
These seedling trays are built to fit 2x2 Rockwool cubes found with many grow tower kits. These are meant to be reused over and over, season after season. They are perfect for vegetables, herbs, flowers, and germination of seedlings in soil or hydroponics for hobby or commercial growers.
These will fit into any standard 1020 flats, including our super durable propagation trays, sold exclusively by Bootstrap Farmer. Cells are a bit wider on the top and slightly tapers to the bottom, with drainage holes. The drainage holes allow for roots to continue to grow through the bottom of the cell tray if desired. They are large enough for roots to find their way, but also small enough to hold moistened vermiculite in place.

What date in May will the Color Seed Starter Pots - 2.5" Extra Strength be available?
We expect the multi-colored insert pots to be available at the end of June!
Do seeds get started in the trays or do you need to put pots in them?
Pots are not needed. You can use rockwool or another form of cubed medium.

Our 32-cell trays are designed by and exclusive to us, but they are made overseas. If you are looking specifically for our USA-made products, you can find them all in the USA-Made Products collection.

The 32 cell tray is made out of PS plastic.
Do you have to use a cubed medium with these trays or would regular potting mix /seed starting mix work
You can use regular potting soil but these are most frequently used as holders for our 2.5 inch pots. 2 inch cubed media will also fit but we do not carry it at this time.

It's not the type of plastic as their trays and pots. They are a bit low grade than than that. They can crack. They do the job to hold the 2.5 pots. Too expensive for what you get.
Keeps the smaller pots from falling over in the tray - perfect!
Haven't used them yet, but I can tell they are everything I hoped they would be...sturdy and good quality.
These are great for holding the 2.5" little pots I also got so I can start my seeds and if the weather is not cooperating they have more room than the starter trays I got from Walmart 2 years ago. I'm very pleased with all my Bootstrap trays and pots that I have been buying over the last 6 months to replace the smaller cheaper stuff I started with on my farm.
Ive purchased a handful of bootstrap products and have been impressed each time. All have been durable thick injection molded products. Are the BSF 32 cell treys the most durable 32 cell trey out there? likely, they are way more durable than anything i have seen, but they are of a thinner/different plastic that is vacuum formed vs injection mold which creates thinner areas on the seed cells. Will i buy again? Yes, but thought id write this review to inform others. I was kinda bummed. Bootstrap, i would update product description to make buyers aware and more informed. A simple (injection mold/vacuum formed) on products may be helpful. Anyways, 4 stars still for a good product. The humidity domes purchased at same time are a 5 star.
