Our greenhouse shade cloth is UV stabilized, rot and mildew resistant, and has an 8-year warranty with a 16-year life expectancy. Shade cloth is an important component of your greenhouse to keep your plants safe during the intense summer heat.
WHY DO I NEED SHADE CLOTH?
Shade cloths protect the plants with light diffusion and UV protection. They also help to keep your greenhouse cool, improve plant ventilation, reduce water usage, and help to prevent sunburn on plants.
What Size of Shade Cloth Should I buy?
You will want the cloth to cover from hip to hip on your hoop house or cover loosely over the desired area that needs protection. Install clips to secure the shade cloth every 24-36". Shade cloth can also be installed using lock channel and spring wire. Check out this video tutorial on how to add shade cloth to a high tunnel greenhouse.

Looking for the best fit for a 20' X 50' greenhouse
How far down are you looking for the shade cloth to come on your greenhouse? I would generally say a 20x50 pieces is appropriate as you normlly don't need it on your endwalls and don't need it come down to the ground.

I need shade cloth for a greenhouse 23' Length, 16' Wide 9 3/4 High. The back and front of the greenhouse will have shade cloth as well, except the front door. I grow orchids. I want to make sure I'm purchasing the correct product. I live in Zolfo Springs, Florida (South of Tampa Florida, more or less in the center of the state). I also need material that goes on the floor. Please call me I want to make sure the shade cloth will be the correct size to cover the greenhouse. What is the best shade cloth to use in central North Carolina.
Best to ask your local farmers as no one knows your local climate better than the farmers closest to you. I am on the Eastern part of North Carolina and use 50%.

Really helped the heat in central Alabama. Using it over raised planter boxes on a cement slab on a loading dock behind a clubhouse. Not ideal I know but, walled in so way less wildlife. Everything was burning up and came back strong.

Our 60’x30’ greenhouse, which we got through a salvage situation, was much too hot! We were losing so much of our garden! We decided to add a shade cloth and chose Bootstrap Farmer! It has been the best addition to our greenhouse! It has helped to keep the temps manageable even without our large fan running! (That’s one of our next projects for the greenhouse) Haven’t had one issue with it and hope to enjoy it for many growing seasons to come!

Shade cloth was simple to install using the same rope and balls that were used to install the poly film. I am 72 years old and have a bad knee so it has taken 5 months to get the frame up and covered. Some of that time was waiting on help from family and friends who are still working at a regular job. I will send pictures as soon as it is cleaned up and in use. We had a windstorm last week with wind that broke some limbs out of a nearby pecan tree. Some of them penetrated the screen at the bottom of the walls but the frame and film stayed strong and straight. I only had 2 strips of strapping installed but the shade cloth was held by the wiggle wire with no problems.
