Protect your plants and structures with this premium UV-treated knitted, black shade cloth available in 6', 12, 20', 32', and 42' widths. This 30 percent shade cloth is popular in areas that experience high heat because it resists breaking down and losing flexibility even under the most extreme rays.
For lengths over 150', contact us for a custom quote.
You will want the cloth to cover from hip to hip on your hoop house or cover loosely over the desired area that needs protection. Install clips to secure the shade cloth every 24-36". Shade cloth can also be installed using lock channel and spring wire. Check out this video tutorial on how to add shade cloth to a high tunnel greenhouse.

Hello. I was looking at a couple of your products. The 30% black knitted shade cloth and the 30% black monofilament shade cloth. I’m wondering what exactly are the differences are? I’m going to set this over my garden using bungee cords attached to beams. Please tell me more about these cloths and their properties? Thanks for your time.
Monofilament shade cloth is made from a single piece of material that is woven with UV-stabilized polyethylene strands. This type of shade cloth offers some distinct benefits such as excellent air circulation, strong resistance to tearing, durability in windy conditions, and reduced light transmission. Overall, the monofilament is stronger, less effected by the wind, can be installed tighter across the structure and can even be installed on bare hoops, not just on top of plastic.
The regular knitted shade is less expensive. We don't recommend laying these just across the hoops, rather it needs to be supported with greenhouse plastic.
We don't know how the shade cloth will wear if it is being pulled tight with bungee cords because our shade cloth does not come with grommets. A proper installation of our shade cloth would require shade cloth clips or wiggle wire and channel lock. It is best to suspend the shade cloth over hoops. Also, our greenhouse shade cloth is not designed to be used as a sunsail.
So far so good, I am using it as a cover to keep the leaves off my volleyball court
Easy to cut and place over greenhouse, providing just the right amount of shade.
